Um, how we got together???

Yesterday, bf and I went to watch Phobia2.
Shiok uh!
Damn nice. Go watch if you're a horror buff like me.
But the first part is a bit boring uh. I love the finale though.

Owh, and yesterday...
I couldn't help but wonder how the hell did bf and I got together?
I mean, we're totally different people.

I adore story books while bf look at books as though they're sickening little cockroaches that needed to be killed.

Bf adores soccer while I thought I'd rather clean toilets than watching soccer.

I love romantic comedies while bf loves action stuff.

I love to talk about celebrities while bf would rather sleep.

I love photography while bf sleeps at the mention of it.

So, when we're alone, our conversation usually goes something like this...

Bf: "By?"
Me: "What?"
Bf: "I love you."
Me: "I love you more."
Bf: "I love you more than you."
Me: "I love you more than the universe!"

Silence.
Two minutes later...

Me: "By?"
Bf: "Yes sayang?"
Me: "I miss you."
Bf: "I miss you too."

Silence.

So sad! How boring!
If there is a "Most Boring Couple in the World Award", bf and I would be the first to win it.
I mean, bf doesn't blog, doesn't go on facebook, doesn't watch the same programmes on TV as me. Hate everything that I do and I hate everything that he does.

I wonder, how the hell do we get together in the first place???

So yesterday bf got a headache.
I said: "Want me to massage your head?"
Bf said: "Owhkaaaaay."
*massage massage*
Bf said: "It's owhkay. You don't have to massage me anymore."
I said: "Huh? Why.?"
Bf said: "Your massage no feeling. Might swell no need to massage."
I said: "Owhkay."

So we were walking walking, holding hands. I was swinging his hand.
Bf said: "Stop swinging your hand."
I said: "Why not?"
Bf said: "I don't like it."

Waiting for the movie to start...
I said: "Let's take pictures!"
Bf said: "I hate taking pictures."
I said: "Owhkaaaaaay."

In cinema...
I screamed: "AAAAAAAAAARGH!"
Bf said: "You're making me embarrassed."
I whispered: "Sorry, but it's so scary!"

In Adidas shop...
Bf said: "You should wear that."
He pointed at some horrendous-looking sports jacket.
I said: "Um, you know I don't like sports stuff do you? Well, unless if the jacket is pink."

On the train...
Bf said: "Can you stop talking? Just sleep."
Silence.

I find us suck.
I suck as a gf. I wish I can put more interest in soccer or action movies.
Bf suck too. I wish he'd pay more attention to the stuff that I do.

I used to enjoy going out with bf so much that I don't want to go home.
How did that happen?
And how did we get so boring, with bf controlling everything?
Um, how did we get together as a couple in the first place???

This is sad. Very sad.
I wonder if bf is bored with me too. That'll explains why he eagerly wanted to go home straight from watching the movie yesterday.
Or issit his headache?
And where are those flowers?

Eid dul fitri 2009

Hari Raya. A happy day. A day to ask forgiveness from people.
Of course, there are many conflicts but somehow, Hari Raya will always somehow bring us families together.
This Hari Raya, it is sad that big bro is not able to take a day off from working.
He has just started to work, and he doesnt want any bad records.

However, this year's Hari Raya is special too, with a new addition to our family, our beloved Paris!
Later on, you will see a family photo with Paris.
Oh and I've lost in total for the past few months 9kg! From a 54kg to a 45kg frame.
And I couldn't wait to show my aunts my new figure.

Anyway, this year, we're not wearing the same color as a family.

It is strange that Pa suddenly wants to wear pink!
A few years ago, I've suggested the whole family to wear pink but he objected strongly. Oh finally he finds the joy in pink!

My younger bro trying to look handsome beside my ma.

The best part is I get to dress up!
I told ma to bun up my hair like those air stewardesses and she did it for me!
Yeay!
I finally get to shove my hair into something neat!

It has always been a must for me and ma to wear henna on Hari Raya eve.
So, I bought this book about henna and followed the designs from there.

Of course, not to forget, Paris! She is the earliest to wake up to celebrate, waking everybody up as well in the process.
Yup, biting my fingers in the process to wake me up at 5 in the morning.
Running around the house madly.
Messing up my dressing table.

A family photo with Paris. Too bad, later on we had to leave her to visit Atok.
So she had to celebrate all alone, without her parents! So sad!

A family picture with Atok.
Atok posing as Sir Stamford Raffles.

When my family and I reached Atok's house, my Aunts were shocked to find my new figure.

Aunt Ros said: "Are you crazy? So thin like mad woman!"
Aunt Ida said: "..."
Aunt Midah said: "Yah so thin for what? Anyway, I used to be thinner than this when I was your age. Heh."
Aunt Ros said to Aunt Midah: "So what happened to you now?"
Aunt Syarifah said: "Don't be so thin lah, not nice."
Aunt Ros said: "See lah, you've got no butt!"

I said: "Atok! Am I pretty? Why you never say I pretty? This is late grandma's kebaya, you know! Say I pretty!"
Atok say: "Yah yah. Pretty pretty lah!"

I just realised that most of my cousins are boys. So sad!
Anyway, I have many many more cousins, but I didn't get to meet them all at Atok's house. So, that's all.
Oh, the woman in the centre is not my cousin though, but my Aunt Ros.
She's just being extra.

There are many many more pictures with mY Aunts but too bad, they're in Aunt Ros' camera.

Anyway, forgive me if the contents of my blog are sometimes too sensitive or hurtful.
I'm just being honest.
Selamat Hari Raya to all Muslims out there.
=D

I'm waiting for...

Hari Raya!
I can't wait for Hari Raya!
I just can't wait to dress up pretty pretty!
It's a day when I will really take the time to dress up.
I can bun up my hair with a flower stuck at the side.
I can make up my face.
I can wear the sexy traditional kebaya*.
This year, I'm wearing something special.
It's a kebaya brought down from my late grandma to me.
Hence it's the sixties kinda kebaya where there are no buttons but kerongsang* to pin up the front of the kebaya.
The lace is handsewn too!
Since late grandma is originally from Jakarta, Indonesia, the kebaya is definitely unique!
You can never find that kinda kebaya anywhere now no matter how hard you try.
The kebaya looks new even though it has survived four decades.
Aunt Ros said: "Look. Her kebaya looks so new even though grandma's body is already rotting in the grave. Cool right?"
Anyway, I will upload Hari Raya pictures.
But for now, I'm busy cleaning up my house, helping my ma to make Hari Raya cookies, clean Paris up and many many more.

*Kebaya= The kebaya is a traditional Malay costume.
*Kerongsang= The kerongsang is a traditional brooch used to pin up the front of a kebaya or baju kurung. It acts like a button for clothes.

85% Girl

When my ma was pregnant with me, she went for a check up.
The doctor said that I was 85% a girl.

When I was 5 years old, I hated Barbie dolls and teddy bears.
I thought they were for sissies.
I hated playing with girls because I thought they're just annoying.
Actually now, I still feel that some girls are annoying.
So now, I'm deprived of playing with Teddy bears and Barbie dolls.
I can't maintain my circle of girlfriends.
It's either I slowly drift away from my girlfriends or there's this certain conflict that I'll create.
It's just exhausting that in a girlish group, you have to keep up with the latest gossip, latest fashion trends. You have to know many many people to bitch about, if not you'll feel left out.
I can't do that.
I'd rather sit around, chill. Comment on stupid stuff.
Do stupid stuff.
Make stupid stuff.
When I was seven, I'd rather steal bras hanging outside people's flats and throw them down from a high story.
I thought it was funny.
When I was six, I'd rather play soccer with big bro 'til my nose bled.
When I was eight, I'd rather write on walls saying "Saiful loves Shanez." and let my ma see and my ma would scold my big bro.
I'd rather play with eggs and draw faces on the eggs and make humpty dumpty.
I'd rather throw alarm clocks, clothes hangers and vases from my grandpa's bedroom window and hear the crashing sounds they made and felt happy.

But, I'm still very much a girl.
Though 85% a girl, I'm still very much a girl.

Paris' Sexy Poses

I woke up this morning to find Paris giving me sexy poses.
So I took out my phone and snapped, snapped, snapped away.

Paris gives you a pan kiss.

Owhkay, that's all folks!

To the Vet

Younger bro said: "Kak! I think I accidentally stepped on Paris' right hand."
Paris screamed: "EEEEEEEW!"
I screamed: "STUPID!"
Big bro said: "Stupid."
Ma said: "To the vet!"
I screamed: "NO MONEEEEYYYY! HOW????? Paris is LIMPING!!!!!!"
Paris screamed: "EEEEEEW!"
Ma said: "Owh yah. Me neither."
So big bro contributed $20, I contributed $20, I forced younger bro to contribute $10, Ma contributed $40+.
So in total we had about $100.
So yesterday was the first time I went to see the vet.
I went with my younger bro. Taxi. $5 only.
Brought Paris in an animal career.
Reached the place called Animal Recovery Centre.
The only knowledge I had about the vet is that the consultation fee will be $36.
Not too bad, right?
We were greeted by the receptionist.
The receptionist said: "What's your kitten's name?"
I said: "Her name is Paris."
Receptionist burst into laughter.
Receptionist said: "Fill in her particulars."
There were about 4 people in the waiting area.
Some with cats, some with dogs.
One of the pet owners asked me: "Have you seen my cat?"
He showed me his extraordinary beautiful big big fat cat which looks like Garfield.
My mouth dropped opened at the beauty.
I said: "Owh. Owhkay. Paris is cuter."
What a loser show off.
He looked at scrawny Paris who looked at him with her big big curious eyes.
As I looked around, everyone's cat was very special. Paris was the only local cat there.
Owh who cares.
When the vet called Paris' name everyone turned to look at us.
Younger bro whispered: "I'm so embarrassed. Why is her name sooooo glamorous?"
Mr Vet said: "So, accident at home?"
I said: "Ask my younger bro. All his fault."
Younger bro explained.
It turned out Paris was perfectly fine.
In fact she was running around the room when we let her out of the career.
But Mr Vet said she had yeast infection and earmite infection.
He let me see the earmites through a microscope.
Eeeew.
They were like moving and they look like lobsters.
So, the medical bill turned out to be $93.
I almost cried.
So I'm broke officially.
Really really broke.
So sad...

Sakura

After two weeks, I finally met bf.
Bf wanted to meet me earlier but I decided to push our date backwards.
I wanted bf to really really miss me, if not he'll treat me like crap.
Bf treat me to Sakura Buffet Restaurant to break fast (it's the fasting month now!).
On days like this, I tend to love bf even more.
Thank you bf.

We went into Sakura half an hour before break fast time.
My hungry stomach longing for the food laid out neatly on the buffet.
I saw many Chinese people eating.
My saliva collecting under my tongue.
Owh, then my bf saw this young couple eating with their tiny children.
Bf said: "Aiyoh. Look at that Malay family. Anyhow eat in front of people. Never fast. So embarrassing."
I said: "Eh, you're fasting. Cannot anyhow bit
ch about people. How do you know they are Malay? Phillipine and Thailand people also look like Malay, what."
But I got to know that they were really Malay because they spoke Malay.
Owh well, I did a little eavesdropping.
Shame shame.
So big also never fast.

Bf got a headache for waiting too long for break fast.
I took some food to prepare for break fast.
I took raw food for bf. Raw oyster, raw scallops, raw prawns, raw salmon.
Well, they aren't exactly raw, maybe half cooked.
I took for myself the grilled dory fillet, some grapes and oranges.
Bf said: "Why you take for me raw food.?"
I said: "I thought you like sushi? So you should like raw food, what."
Bf said: "But I wanted the scallop pizza!"
I said: "So who's gonna eat these raw food?"

After what seems like a really long time,
It was time to break fast!
I ate and ate and ate and ate and ate and ate and ate and ate.
Many many times I ate.
Yum Yum!
In my right hand, a prawn, in my left hand, scallop pizza.
Yum yum.
I ate many many food.
After all, it was a buffet.
You are supposed to eat many many in a buffet.
Owh, and I brought along a rather small container which I stuffed in my bag.
I brought home six oreo cheese cakes, two marble cheese cakes, two chocolate fudge cakes and six mango, lychee and passion fruit puddings!
Bf was pretending that he didn't know me.
Owh I wonder why bf always pretends not to know me nowadays.
And after all that, we went home.

*Additional info:
It is the break fast month, otherwise known as the Ramadhan month.
During this month, the Muslims fast from dawn to dusk. They do not eat nor drink(nor smoke cigarretes) during the day until the sun sets which is when they break their fast. This carries on for 30 days.
The pupose of fasting is to remind ourselves about the hardship of poor people who do not have enough food to eat and to be closer to god. Besides that, fasting has many health benefits. It cleanses and detox your body. (Also, you can lose those kilos!)
Ramadhan month is followed Hari Raya which is celebrated by Muslims for their achievement and perseverence during the fasting month.

Baby Sis.

Like me, Paris loves to take pictures.
She's quite a camwhore.
Owh well, sisters think alike.

Loser Mugger

I don't know about you, but my exams are over.
I'm still feeling the stress in me.
You know, that's the thing about going to poly.

In poly, you'll be experiencing two moments.
The happy moment, and the wanting-to-commit-suicide moment.

One moment you're totally carefree and before you know it, it's the semestral exams.
And then, you'll be mugging.
Stressing your hair out.
Eating more papaya than necessary.
Screaming at people.
Giving people black face.
Refuse to lend your friends your notes for the fear of your friends getting higher grades than you.
And cry cry cry.

Pissing people off.
Pissing yourself off.

Pick a fight with your boyfriend.
Accuse him of cheating on you.

And then, there's Paris.
I love Paris.
She's my strength.
Owh well, I love everything about her except for her too high-pitched mews.
Not good for your ears.

Owh, and she woke me up at seven in the morning.
With her high-pitched mews of course.
Forcing me to play with her.
Scratching my face.
What a tiny sucker.
Who the hell wakes up at that time when you have no school or exams.

Owh, for Paris' sake.

Lil Paris II

This is Paris.
She's just almost 2 months old.
I adopted her at this cat welfare centre somewhere in Pasir Ris.
Heeh.
I fell in love with this baby when I saw her eyes.
Her eyes just said: "I am so innocent!"

I love innocent eyes.

Owh, the foster adopter told me that she was almost drowned in a drain when they rescued her.
At that time, she was just a week old.

So sad!
So, she told me that Paris was taken care by human beings most of her life.
So sad!
Imagine, in your whole entire life, you're being taken care by monkeys and not human beings!
So sad!
So, she has never felt a mother's love. Her mother didn't know that she fell into the drain, I guess.
So sad!

Anyway.
She's quite smart. Whenever she wants attention, she'll just mew a very high- pitched mew until your ears can't stand it and you just have to play with her. Her high-pitched mew sounded something like this: "EEEEeeeeeeeeew. EEEEEEeeeeeeEEEEEW!"

I don't know about you, but I've never seen a baby cat sleeping like Paris.

First, she would sleep like this.

Then, she changes her position to this...

To this...

And finally, to this.

Owh, and I like it when she's just eaten. Her tummy will be very big.
So cute.
I always feed her lot's and lot's of food.
I just want her to be fat.
Fat baby cats are cute!

So far, she's stayed with my family for more than two weeks.
Everybody treats her like a baby.
My mother treats Paris like her daughter.
Yup. Finally I have a sister!
Yeay.
Just you wait, Paris.
When you're older, I'm gonna groom you, put some make up on you, tie your hair with ribbon and make you wear tank tops.

Owh, and Paris says "bye".
